Clashes reported between Taliban, resistance front in Panjshir

KABUL (Pajhwok): Conflicting sides in central Panjshir province have claimed inflicting casualties on one another on Tuesday.

The Panjshir Resistance Front Spokesperson Fahim Dashti in an audio message  said the Taliban on Monday night stage attack on the Khawak Tunnel side but it was repulsed.

He claimed nearly 30 Taliban were killed and 15 others injured.

Zakirulhaq Gulbahari, the resident of Gulbahar locality in the Jabal Saraj district, said the Taliban ad resistance front fought in the Gulbahar Port, a bordering area between Parwan and Panjshir.

He added three armed personnel of the resistance front were killed. He did not have information about the Taliban losses.

Haseebullah, another resident of Jabal Seraj locality, said 12 Taliban were killed in the firefight that was continued for about five hours.
