Religious scholar gunned down in Laghman

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a religious scholar in the Qarghaio district of eastern Laghman province, according to local residents on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Noorul Wahab from Alishang district was killed during evening prayer. Gunmen managed to flee the scene, a local resident on the condition of anonymity said.

“Mawlavi Wahab was an impartial person, he was punctual to his job and offered Jumma Prayer,” he said.

Local official have not spoken about the incident, no group claimed responsibility for the incident.
