GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A former police officer has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in southeastern Paktia province, a local official said on Monday.
Director of Information and Culture Khaliqyar Ahmadzai told Pajhwok Afghan News former deputy police chief Ezzatullah was mysteriously killed.
The Taliban shifted the victim’s body to the Zonal Hospital, The corpse was recovered from Chona locality on Sunday afternoon.
Ezzatulah served as deputy police chief for the 1<sup>st</sup> police district of Gardez, the provincial capital.
Mysterious killings have lately surged nationwide. The victims largely include former security personnel.
