KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided necessary equipment to 40 Covid-19 Hospitals in Afghanistan.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health said of 38 Covid-19 Hospitals in the country, 17 were functional while 21 others were not functional.
The ministry said talks with relevant institutions were underway for activation of non-functioned health institutions.
WHO on its Facebook page wrote medical equipment had been delivered to 40 Covid-19 health centres amid harsh winter in the country.
It said these Covid-19 hospitals had the capacity of conducting 9,500 test on a daily basis.
In Afghanistan, 818,072 Covid-19 tests have been conducted since the outbreak of the virus in which 157,967 were positive.
