KABUL (Pajhwok): A magnitude of 5.7 earthquake jolted northeastern Badakhshan province on Saturday morning when Pakistan’s Seismological Center reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 in parts of that country.
Pakistan’s Seismological Center says that the quake happened on Saturday morning with its epicenter was in Ashkasham district of Badakhshan province.
US Geological Survey said that the depth of the quake was 209.1 kilometers but no damages and casualties linked to the quake have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, Pakistani media outlets reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 has jolted parts of Islamabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Swat and Mingora city.
Pakistan’s Seismological Center said that the depth of the earthquake was 210 kilometers along the Hindukush Mountains.
