Oxygen producing factory set up in Khost

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The first-ever oxygen-producing factory has been established in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Monday.

The oxygen producing plant has been established with personal investment of a Khost resident.

Dr. Mohammad Rahim Qanoni, owner the factory, told Pajhwok Afghan News that he invested around 13 million afghanis and the plant was capable of producing 80 cylinders of oxygen daily.

He said the oxygen producing plant would meet the needs of government and private hospitals of the province.

Qanoni said he would expand the oxygen production so that the provincial health centers also had access to oxygen during critical situation.

Meanwhile, Gulzar Jananzai, director of chamber of commerce and industry, said that lack of industrial parks, electricity, untimely delivery of raw materials, untimely transfer of money through the banking system were major problems investors and industrialists faced in the province.

Director of Information and Culture Shabbir Ahmad Usmani called the establishment of the oxygen factory as fruitful step and vowed that the government would provide all facilities industrialists needed.
