Paktia university teachers want Afghan assets unfrozen

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Lecturers of Paktia university Sunday slammed the decision of US President Joe Biden about Afghan assets and called for the frozen funds to be released.

The professors made the call during a press conference here.

Chancellor of Paktia University Prof. Obaidullah Akhundzada said the frozen assents belonged to all Afghans not the government and freezing them was a treason against the Afghans.

He said: “We want justice, stealing or misappropriating the frozen money of the Afghan people by the US shows the most human and moral depravity of a country and a nation.”

He added all Afghans demand these frozen assets and voice on international community and human rights to supporter their demand.

Dawlat Khan Jawhar, lecturer of economic faculty, said: “When the Afghan money was frozen the value afghani also decreased and it would lead to a negative impact on Afghans if remained frozen.”

It was the money set aside from national budget during the past two decades in order to maintain the value of afghani.
