LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A three years old boy died on Sunday after falling into a deep-well in the Nawzad district of southern Helmand province, an official said.
Provincial Information Director Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Reyaz told Pajhwok Afghan News a child fell into a deep well in the FarhadDasht area at around 10:00am.
Initial report showed that child died and efforts were underway to recover his body. Local officials reached the site and launched rescue efforts.
Abdul Nafai, a resident of Nawzad district, said the child fell into the deep-well at around 8:30 am.
This comes that recently a six years old child plunged into a deep well in Zabul province capital Qalat. The boy named Haidar was lost despite massive rescue operation.
Interior ministry then ordered covering of all deep-wells nation-wide to avoid unfortunate incidents.
