PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is not attending the 48th meeting of OIC Conference of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Islamabad.
The two-day meeting, which is all set to begin today, is scheduled to take up the issues being faced by the Muslim world, including the current humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
At the session, the Afghan government would be represented by an official of the foreign ministry, not by Muttaqi, a leading Pakistani newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Dawn quoted Afghan Foreign Ministry's deputy spokesman Hafiz Zia Takal as saying that Muhammad Akbar Azeemi would lead the Taliban delegation at the meeting.
In December 2021, Muttaqi had represented the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan at the extraordinary session of the OIC foreign ministers in Islamabad.
