1.5 million e-ID cards distributed in last few months

KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) on Sunday said that over 1.5 million electronic ID cards have been distributed to applicants since the caretaker government was established by reactivating e-ID cards distribution centers across the country.

NSIA in a Facebook post today said that a total of 1.5 million ID cards were distributed, including 811,858 ID cards for men and 688,142 ID cards for women.

The number of ID cards issued from the beginning of this process until today reaches more than 7.5 million, the source said.

With 73 activation of e-ID cards distribution centers in the country, including 19 in Kabul and at least one in each province, NSIA has accelerated the process of e-ID distribution, the source added.

The agency asked e-ID cards applicants to download the application form, fill it and then submit it to the nearest center for further processing.
