PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s new minister of state for foreign affairs has reaffirmed her country’s commitment to continuing efforts for ensuring peace in Afghanistan.
Hina Rabbani Khar renewed Islamabad’s commitment on Wednesday when she Pakistan’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq.
APP news agency quoted Khar as saying Pakistan respected the sovereignty of Afghanistan and viewed peace in the neighbouring country an imperative.
Ambassador Sadiq gave the state minister a detailed briefing on the security environment in the region, including Afghanistan.
Additional Secretary Afghanistan Amir Aftab Qureshi and Director-General Afghanistan Asif Memon also attended the meeting at the Foreign Office.
