Attempt to smuggle sheep to Pakistan thwarted

QALAT (Pajhwok): Security officials in southern Zabul province say they have foiled an attempt at smuggling hundreds of sheep to neighboring Pakistan.

In a statement, the 3^rd Border Brigade said the security forces prevented the smuggling of 1,400 sheep in Shamalzai district.

Three suspected smugglers were detained. The smuggling of sheep has lately been on the rise.

Some people purchase the sheep close to the Durand Line and smuggle them to the neighbouring country.
