Jawzjan favorable for investment: Finance minister

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): The acting finance minister during a visit to northern Jawzjan province on Wednesday encouraged traders to invest in the province where he said a good investment opportunity existed.

Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, the acting finance minister, talking to a press conference in Shiberghan, the capital of Jawzjan, said, "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is trying to provide more facilities for businessmen and investors.”

With the establishment of the current government, security has been ensured throughout the country including Jawzjan, which provides a good opportunity for investment, he said.

Badri said that there were many challenges for traders and investors, but the government considered resolving these problems a priority.

He called on officials of the Revenue Department in Jawzjan to cooperate in providing further facilities for investors in the province.

He emphasized on provision of timely services, saying "good services help increase revenue and can leave a positive impact on strengthening financial and revenue system.”

Jawzjan governor, DamlaShoaibResalat, talking to the meeting, said, "We assure all traders and investors that they can invest in various sectors in Jawzjan province without any security concerns.”

"We have continuously supported and will continue to support traders and assure them that the environment in Jawzjan province is conducive for any kind of business and investment programs," he said.

The acting finance minister, who arrived in Shiberghan this morning, to meet provincial officials and the governor, left neighboring for Balkh province today noon.

Officials said the aim of his visit was to evaluate revenue activities of provinces and traders’ problems.
