Man beheads wife in Balkh, 4 people arrested

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested four people in connection to the killing of a woman in northern Balkh province, an official said on Friday.

A man chopped off the head of her wife --- Reta, 33, --- with the support of his brother three months ago and put her body in a well.

Police Spokesperson Mohammad Asif Waziri said four persons had been arrested in this connection but the main accused --- murderer and slain woman husband --- managed to flee.

Among the detainees are two Reta’s husband's brothers and two others are the relatives of the murderer’s first wife.
