Man killed as rival families clash in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): One person was killed and another injured during an armed clash between two rival families in the Dehrawud district of central Uruzgan province, police said on Friday.

Dehrawud district police chief Haji Bashir told Pajhwok Afghan News that the armed clash broke out between two families in Bazgir area of ​​the district on Thursday.

According to him, one person was killed and another was injured in the clash.

Security forces arrived at the scene immediately after the incident and arrested six people with four Kalashnikovs and a pistol, he added.

According to the Uruzgan Department of Information and Culture, the families had an old enmity but they clashed over a wheat thresher yesterday.

The injured man was taken to the district health center and is said to be in stable condition.
