Faryab man held for allegedly killing wife

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A man has been arrested for the alleged killing of his wife in northwestern Faryab province, according to local sources on Wednesday.

Information and Cultural Affairs Director Mawlavi Shamsullah Mohammadi told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Man named Mohammad Aref killed his wife by suffocating her in the third police district of Maimana city at 4:30 pm on Tuesday”.

Mohammadi added that the security forces arrested the suspect for further investigations.

Mohammad Ali, a resident from the locality told Pajhwok Afghan News: “We heard that there was always fighting between the man and his wife, their relations were not good either”. He added that they fought over something; the man’s wife was beaten hard so she died.
