KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Uzbek delegations have discussed the implementation of basic infrastructure projects such as the railroad linking Termez, Mazar-i-Sharif, Kabul and Peshawar.
The Foreign Ministry’s deputy spokesman said at the talks, the Afghan delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Ameer Khan Muttaqi while the Uzbek team was led by Abdul Aziz Kamilov.
Zia Ahmad Takal wrote on his Twitter handle the two sides discussed key regional infrastructure projects at Sunday’s meeting in Tashkent.
The delegates agreed on the launch of a survey of the Termez-Kabul-Peshawar railway line during the meeting, which was also attended by the Uzbek special representative for Afghanistan and foreign ministry officials.
Earlier, the Afghan delegation arrived in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to attend a two-day conference on Afghanistan, beginning today (Monday).
