PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has once again urged the international community to scale up support for protecting the lives and livelihoods of the Afghan people.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, referring to the current humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, issued the call in a video call with his Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly on Wednesday.
Joly particularly commended Pakistan’s unstinted support in the evacuation of foreigners and Afghan nationals since August 2021.
Bilawal Bhutto told the Canadian minister that Pakistan had been facilitating the evacuation process on a humanitarian basis.
According to APP, the state-run news agency, the foreign minister also acknowledged Canada’s humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
In response to Bhutto Zardari’s invitation, Joly agreed to visit Pakistan at her earliest convenience.
