FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Eight people, including a woman and a child, were killed and two others injured in a traffic accident in northeastern Badakhshan province on Tuesday, an official said.
Qari Sabruddin, police chief of Yawan district, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The accident happened at around 9:00 am in the Reman area when a 4Runner type vehicle skidded off the road and overturned due to technical fault and reckless driving.”
He said the injured had been shifted to the district hospital for treatment and the driver fled the area after the accident.
Yawan is a backward district of Badakhshan where traffic accidents and natural disasters happened regularly.
