TALOQAN (Pajhwok): One person was killed and two moneychangers were wounded as a result of a hand grenade blast in northern Takhar province on Saturday, an official said.
Police spokesman Abdul Mobin Safi told Pajhwok Afghan News that a person wanted to lob a hand grenade into the moneychangers’ market in Taloqn but it went off, killing the attacker and injuring two moneychangers.
The incident took place in the morning.
Meanwhile, Karimullah, a moneychanger, told Pajhwok: “The explosion in the moneychangers’ market took place today at 8:00am, the attacker was killed and two moneychangers were wounded.”
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident.
