KABUL (Pajhwok): A new diplomat appointed by the Islamic Emirate is set to join the Afghan embassy in Moscow, says a media report.
Abdullah Yasar would take up his assignment at an introduction ceremony on Monday, TOLOnews quoted unnamed sources as saying.
A political analyst told the private broadcaster: “Sending a diplomat to (the Afghan embassy) in Moscow is needed, this is a reality now …”
As Afghanistan buys fuel and grains from Russian in line with agreements signed some months back, he argued, the embassy must be active.
Moscow handed over the Afghan embassy to the IEA in April this year and accredited the Taliban-appointed charge d’affaires Jamal Garwal.
