ZARANJ (Pajhwok): An attempt to smuggle weapons and military equipment to neighboring Iran has been foiled in northwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Saturday.

Mufti Habibullah Elham, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Two individuals who wanted to smuggle weapons and ammunition to Iran were arrested in the Kang district by border forces of 3rd brigade.”

He said the seizure included two M4 carbine, two binoculars, two bombs, a rocket launcher, 11 rocket shells, 21 magazines, three grenades, 1,600 heavy Russian shells and some other ammunition.
