SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Twenty-two people, including three women, have been flogged in a public place in northern Jawzjan province after a local court verdict for the crimes they had committed.
Judge Abdul Wahab Zahid told Pajhwok Afghan News 22 persons from Jawzjan were flogged in public in connection to adultery, elopement, homosexuality and drinking alcohol.
Local officials, including deputy governor Mawlavi Gul Mohammad, Intelligence Director Mawlavi Khoshal, Police Chief Qari Hafeezullah Pahlawan and others were present on the occasion.
Jawzjan Deputy Governor Mawlavi Gul Ahmad said: “The implementation of Allah orders that the Islamic Emirate Mujahideen implemented today had been made possible after conflict and sacrifices of Mujahideen.”
“If foreign countries did not recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan over the implementation of Hodud, they shall not recognize us, we will enforce the law of Allah,” he added.
Religious scholar Mufti Ismael said: “If the laws of Allah described in the holy Quran not enforced in the society nothing will be improved.”
He said every individual who commit a crime should be punished, Hodud and Tazeerat should be implemented on everyone to help eradicate crime from society.
