KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has exported more than 5,000 tonnes of pine nuts over the past nine months, says the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI).
The pine nuts were exported to China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, India, Italy, America, Canada, Britain, Australia, Turkey, Sweden, Ukraine and Belgium.
Ariana News quoted a spokesman for the ministry as putting the value of the pine nut exports at $53 million.
Abdul Salam Akhundzada said China was the largest recipient of Afghan pine nut exports, approximately 2,200 tonnes, via air and land corridors.
