Kabul municipality raising 400,000 seedlings, flowers

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Kabul municipality has been raising 400,000 tree seedlings and seasonal flowers to be planted in spring.

The municipality in a statement said it was raising 200,000 seedlings of trees and a similar number of seasonal flowers in its nurseries.

“There are different types of tree seedlings like oaks, pines, morpankh and others and some seasonal flowers like geranium, roses and some other types in nurseries of the municipality,” the municipality said in a statement.

It said the municipality plans to plant these seedlings and flowers alongside roads, vases, hills and some other parts of the city for greenery and beauty of the city.

The municipality has doubled its efforts at increasing reproduction of such trees and flowers by creating over 20 new greenhouses and nurseries in some parks of the city.
