KABUL (Pajhwok): Last week, Japan, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia announced aid packages for Afghanistan, two international Organisations resumed operation whiel UN renewed call for the removal of curbs on women’s work in Afghanistan.

Casualties:
Last week, 16 people were killed and six others injured in Afghanistan.
According to police, former Wolesi Jirga Member Mursal Nabizada and her bodyguard were killed and her brother was injured in unknown armed men attack on her house in the Ahmad Shah Baba Mena of Kabul.
In Khas Uruzgan district of Uruzgan province a father mistakenly killed his sone on a gun shot, unknown gunmen killed a former military personnel in Khas Uruzgan.
A man killed his wife in Charchino district, whiel armed personnel beheaded a 10 year old boy after kidnapping in Tarinkot.
According to reports a man killed four people, including two women, in capital Kabul. Two people were killed and as many injured as a result of dispute between two families in Parwan province.
Unknown gunmen have killed a man in Nangarhar and injured two children. Two people were killed mysteriously in Khost and a body recovered in Laghman province, last week reports said.

The previous week, 17 people were killed and 43 others injured in different incidents of violence in the country.
Last year, before the regime change in the country, hundreds of civilians and individuals from the warring sides were killed and injured every week in violent incidents and clashes.
High level UN delegation visit to Afghanistan
UN Deputy Secretary-General and the UN Women head Amina Mohammed has arrived in capital Kabul four days earlier. She said the purpose of her visit to Afghanistan was to convey the message of international community regarding women education and their work to the acting Afghan government.
On December 23, The Ministry of Higher Edcation stopped women’s higher education till the next order whiel the Ministry of Economy halt women from working in none-governmental organisations.
At the end of the trip, UN delegation asked the IEA to reverese decrees related to the halt of women’s higher education and work.
This comes that earlier; the IEA said that efforts were on to find resolution to the problem under the framework of Islamic Sharia.
NGOs have halted their operation in the country in response to the government decision to ban women employees from work.
Care International that stopped functioning following the IEA decision to ban female workers said it would resumeds ints operation in health and mulnutration areas.
Save the Children also said that it resumed some of its operaion health, food and education sector following assurances from the acting government that their female staff members would be also returned to work.
Recognition and inclusive government:
Mawlavi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, the acting government’s prime minister aide, during a meeting to top Un officials last week said that UN did not cooperated in the removal of top IEA officials name from the black list, Afghanistan’s permanent membership in the UN and accepting acting governemnt’s enovy crendital at the UN.
Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi during a meeting with the UN delegation said none-recognition of the acting government, restrictions on the IEA officials’ trips, curbs on banking sysem were issues that faced the people of Afghanistan with problems and the international community should take positive steps to address these issues.
Muttaqi also met Russian Enovy for Afghanistan Zameer Kabalove and said that recognition of the acting government was in the interest of the region.
Muttaqi assured Kabalove that acting Afghan government was working on inclusiveness of the Afghan government and the protection of humanrights, specially women rights.
IEA Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that some major countries due to their wrong polices were not ready to interact with the IEA and did not allow other nations to do so.
Last week, Iran’s foreign minister during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart stressed over an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
But IEA Deputy Spokesperson Bilal Karimi said: “The government structure and inclusiveness of the government was Afghanistan’s internal matter and the IEA being a responsible government was taking decisions regarding its country.”
Humanitarian Aid:
Japan provided $1.3 million for strengthening health secor particularly to the meternity sector.
Ukrain announced 16,000 tonnes of wheat aid to Afghanistan whiel Saudi Arabi started distribution of food worth $3 million in Afghanistan.
UN aid providing agencies said it would help 965 families affected by severe cold in Afghanistan.
The Agha Khan Foundation said besides generating job oppertunties for people in Afghanistan it would continue its activities in health, energy and human rights areas.
A British parliament member said 28 million people needed humanitarian support in Afghanistan and UK will continue aid to the people of Afghanistan.
