KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 120 Afghan nationals have been released from prisons in the Sindh province of Pakistan, the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad said on Wednesday.

The embassy tweeted that about 120 Afghan citizens were freed on Tuesday as a result of efforts by the consulate in Karachi.

Some 130 Afghan citizens would be released in the near future the embassy hoped.

“Wali Khan, son of Musa Khan and resident of Nangarhar, passed away in prison. His body has been sent to the country through an ambulance,” it added.

The embassy said that the cost of transporting the freed Afghan nationals had been arranged by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
