KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed by security forces in the capital of southern Kandahar province yesterday, sources said on Saturday.

The incident took place in Seeta square of Aino Mena area in the limits of the 11th security district of Kandahar City on Friday around 12pm, some local sources confirmed.

Mohammad Anwar, an eyewitness of the incident, told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces signaled a motorcyclist to stop, but he did not stop and the security forces opened fire at him when a bullet hit another teenage boy.

A governmental source on the condition of anonymity also confirmed the incident and said the body of the victim was taken to the provincial hospital and his family had been found.

The source said: “Yes, the teenager was shot dead yesterday and his family has been found, I have no more details of the incident”.
