GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Youth Affairs Director Qari Mohammad Younis Rashid has urged youth in southern Ghazni province to work with the government instead of going abroad.

Addressing a gathering there Rashid said youth should remain calm because the country needed them more than anyone else; there was need for joint efforts for the country’s progress and durable peace,

He said: “Indeed, youth is the work force and a huge asset of a society, they are considered the backbone of a country due massive talent and qualities they have.”

Rashid said the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) officials always strived to generate employment opportunities for youth besides securing their lives.

Youth affairs director pledged to share all the problems of youth with the high level officials of the IEA.

He asked the youth to stay in the country and work with government instead of traveling the other countries.

Ahmadullah, Ghazni youth representative, demanded Rashid that government should generate work opportunities for youth in the country so they will not go abroad.

Ahmadullah said: “Majority of the youth attempts to leave the country because of economic problems and their unclear future”.

Ali Reza, another participant of the gathering said: “It is the responsibility of the government to respect the talent of the youth and use it in the construction of the country”.

Majority of the country’s youth have been thinking just about leaving the country since a year and half, it is a tragedy, he said.

Some other youth expressed similar views and asked the IEA officials to generate job opportunities for youth besides the provision of study and other facilities.

Governor Maualvi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada said in the past two Jihads youth participation was 98 percent, adding that the current regime was also due to the sacrifices of youth.

He said in current situation all the people hoped that youth will steer the country towards progress.

It is worth mentioning that Qari Mohammad Younis Rashid, Youth Affairs Director of the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs, recently traveled to Zabul, Helmand, Kandahar, Uruzgan and some other provinces and heard from youth during gatherings he attended.
