KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 4,986 Afghan refugees have returned from Iran in the past two days, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Wednesday.
The refugees came back to the country via Islam Qala in western Herat province, the ministry said in a brief statement.
Without providing details, it said most of the refugees returned home voluntarily while some of them were deported.
On the basis of an Interior Ministry survey, 292 of the returnees were introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance.
