HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two Daesh militants have been killed as a result of clearing operations in the capital of western Herat province, an official said on Thursday.
Maulana Naeem-ul-Haq Haqqani, director of information and culture, confirmed the killing of two Daesh insurgents in a clash with security forces.
Haqqani said security personnel and civilians suffered no causalities and the clearing operations were still ongoing in the 9th and 11th police districts of the city.
According to him, the operations are being conducted on the basis of intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants in the area.
