7 of a family killed in Laghman roof collapse

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Seven members of a family were killed and an eight-year-old girl injured when the roof of their house collapsed following heavy rains in the Alishang district of eastern Laghman province.

Provincial natural disasters management head Qari Khair Mohammad Ghazi told Pajhwok the incident took place the Qala Taki area at about 2am.

He said a man, his wife and five sons were killed and an eight-year-old daughter injured in the roof cave-in.

Ghazi said heavy rains had damaged the roof a few days ago, but the family did not pay attention to repair it.

A resident of the area, Rafiullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the roof of Sherzad’s house collapsed at around 2am last night, killing him and his six family members.
