KABUL (Pajhwok): Forty-one prisoners, including seven women, have been set free in western Ghor province ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
The inmates were freed in compliance with an order from Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Supreme Leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada.
Seven women were among the released individuals, who had been jailed on charges of moral corruption, theft, bribery and drug trafficking, the governor’s office said.
