IRC rehabilitates 32 schools buildings in Logar

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The International Rescue Committee (IRC) would rehabilitate 32 schools damaged during the past war in central Logar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Education Department Spokesperson Shapour Arab told Pajhwok Afghan news these schools were situated in the Pul-i-Alam, Baraki Barak, Mohammad Agha, Charkh, Kharwar, Azra and Khoshi districts.

He said these 32 schools would be rehabilitated during two months period at the cost of $73,000 and would be provided by the IRC.

Mohammad Nabi, the resident of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, said during the past conflict most schools were destroyed due to conflict adding that government and NGOs should help rehabilitated these schools with high quality standards.

Mohammad Jawad, the student of Porak High School in Pul-i-Alarm, said their school damaged during the past conflict and urged its rehabilitation.

It is pertinent to mention that last year UNICEF rehabilitated as many as nine schools in Pul-i-Alam and Mohammad Agha district at the cost of $100,000.
