ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Nearly 54,000 Afghan refugees have returned from Iran in the past one month in northwestern Nimroz province, the department of refugees and repatriation said on Tuesday.
Maulvi Sediqullah Nasrat, director of refugees and repatriation, told Pajhwok Afghan News 53,999 Afghan refugees returned to the country from Iran through Nimroz’s silk bridge last month.
He said the fresh returnees included 792 families comprising 3,314 individuals and 50,685 single people. Of these people, 3,245 were introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance.
