KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs (MoHRA) has inked an agreement with Kam Air for transportation of Hajj pilgrims to and from Saudi Arabia.

While signing the contract, the ministry urges the airline to provide the best possible services to the pilgrims.

Information from MoHRA says 30,000 pilgrims from Afghanistan will visit the holy sites in Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season this year.

A statement from MoHRA said acting Minister Maulvi Noor Mohammad Saqib and Kam Air officials signed the agreement for the transportation of pilgrims at a meeting here.

At the contract signing-ceremony ceremony, the minister urged the Kam Air to manage the transportation of pilgrims in an efficient manner.

Atela Kamgar, deputy head of the airline, said: “Our company is part of this mujahid nation and the economy of the Islamic Emirate.

“We are trying to fly pilgrims to and back from Saudi Arabia in a successful manner. The Kam Air has made all technical and operational preparations for the transportation of pilgrims this year.”

Each pilgrim is expected to pay $3,924, or 340,000 afs, in Hajj expenses this year. The first flight of pilgrims from Kabul to Saudi Arabia will take place on May 22.
