NELLI (Pajhwok): Work on rehabilitation of 58 family health nests has been kicked off with financial support of theUN Population Fund (UNPF), an official said on Tuesday.
The project is being implemented by the Move Organisation. Eng. Ghulam Nabil Fazali, general director of Move during the inauguration ceremony of the rehabilitation work, said the project will cost 20 million afs provided UNPF.
He said the contract of the rehabilitation work had been inked with eight companies and they would carry out quality work.
He said the health centres were established in 2012 and now their infrastructures required rehabilitation on urgent basis to ensure provision of quality services.
Fazli said these health centres offered health services in the areas of child and mother health and each health nests had midwives, nurses, guards and cleaners. He assured more steps towards the provision of health services.
Mohammad Noor Khalil, the governor office chief of staff, asked the contractor to conduct their activities in line with the contract and laws.
The people in Daikundi often demand construction of health centres as many people in far-flung areas have no access to basic health services.
