ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Five Afghan youth have been killed and one injured by Iranian security forces firing in the border area between the two countries in Southwestern Nimroz province, local security sources said on Sunday.
A Border Security Officer Mohammad Ibrahim Hewad told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Last night a group of Afghan youth who wanted to illegally cross the border and enter Iran were shot by the Iranian border guards as a result five of them were killed and one injured.”
Hewad added, the incident took place in Abdul Hamid village of Zaranj city near to Chahar Burjak district on Saturday night around 1:00am.
According to him, the bodies of dead have been transferred to Zaranj hospital and the injured is in a stable condition.
It comes while the border of Nimroz province sometimes witnesses of such incidents.
