KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has denounced a deadly suicide bombing at a political event in northwestern Pakistan.
The bomber struck at a workers’ convention of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur tribal district, killing 46 people and wounding 200 more on Sunday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the IEA spokesman expressed his deep condolences to the families affected by the widely-condemned explosion in Khar.
In a tweet, he prayed for the souls of the martyrs and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
He saw no justification for the attack and reiterated the interim government’s commitment to promoting peace in the region.
