KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) has recommended 55 children with congenital heart defects (CHDs) for treatment and surgeries to Kabul hospitals.

ARCS wrote on its Twitter handle that the ailing children were introduced to five different hospitals in the capital on Monday.

Over the past one year, ARCS has introduced 1,645 children suffering   from heart diseases to different hospitals for medical treatment.

ARCS also shared the video clip of an ailing child’s father on its Twitter account. He says his son was four and half months old when he was diagnosed with heart issues. The child needed a surgery, but his father says he could not afford it.

But the man is happy with the ARCS arranging an operation on his son.

Another man, whose child has a similar condition, says he could not afford his daughter’s surgery. Fortunately, he adds, his daughter has been referred to a private hospital by ARCS.
