KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says Saturday has been declared a public holiday to mark 104th anniversary of the Independence Day.
The ministry published a statement that August 19 is a public holiday for celebrating the national Independence Day.
The people of Afghanistan under the leadership of the then King Ghazi Amanullah Khan regained its independence from British in 1919.
Afghans are celebrating the Independence Day with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm by arranging special events and programmes.
