ATLANTA (Pajhwok): As the value of the afghani spikes against the US dollar, the Kabul Municipality has reduced prices of essential commodities.
Based on a new list, the municipality announced a cut in rates of 15 food and non-food items at a meeting with representatives of commodity suppliers.
Members of petroleum and gas suppliers, Afghanistan Oil and Gas and the Afghanistan Chambers of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) attended the meeting.
A statement from the municipality said all suppliers were bound to display the new list and enforce the revised prices. Violators would be dealt with according to the law, it warned.
Most foreign currencies have been in a state of fluctuation over the past few days in the Sarai Shadzada Market, with the afghani staying stable against the US dollar..
