KABUL (Pajhwok): Ministry of Defence (MoD) personnel have seized two mummified bodies, as many sculptures and other historical objects in central Bamyan province.
The antiques included a golden crown, a gold-inscribed manuscript and other items worth $27 million, MoD wrote in its X handle.
Intelligence agents of the 20<sup>th</sup> Al Fatah Corps, in coordination with their counterparts in Kabul and Balkh provinces, confiscated the items in Bamyan.
It said the artifacts also included five boxes, two swords and a book written in gold. The value of the items was put at $27 million.
The confiscated items were handed over the officials of National Museum and three individuals were also held in connection with the items.
Without going into detail, the ministry said some people had been held for selling the items. The detainees are currently under investigation.
