KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty five undocumented Afghans, released from Iraqi prisons, have arrived in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said on Thursday.
These Afghan nationals had been imprisoned in Iraq for travelling to the Gulf country without legal documents, MoFA said.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, MoFA spokesman, wrote on his X handle: “As a result of efforts by the ministry and the embassy of Afghanistan in Baghdad, the 25 Afghans … were released. They returned to the country after being provided with the necessary travel documents.”
Takal assured the nation that MoFA was committed to securing the release of Afghans jailed in other countries as well.
