56 sacks of gunpowder captured in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Intelligence forces have seized 56 sacks of gunpowder in eastern Nangarhar province.

201 Khalid Bin Waleed Corps officials say the explosives were found in a house and one person has been arrested in connection with it.

The Corps spokesman, Wahidullah Mohammadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that intelligence personnel of the corps raided a house in Daman area of Jalalabad and seized the gunpowder.

The Ministry of Defense also confirmed the seizure in a statement.

The ministry said the detainee wanted to use the dynamite in destructive activities.
