MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Minister for Water and Energy Abdul Latif Mansour on Tuesday said that 126 check dams will be constructed nationwide for which a separate budget had been allocate.
Addressing a gathering here said the construction of 126 check dams is part of the ministry plan. Survey, design work of these dams had been completed and government allocated separate budget also for this purpose, he added.
Baitullah Safi, the resident of Sholgar district, asked the energy minister to construct irrigation canals and dams in the province.
He said a river in Shogar district which is 25 kilometers long every year snatched the dry land and asked the ministry to construct retaining wall on the river banks.
Abdul Latif, the resident of Nihr Shahi district, said that a river between Nihr Shahi and Syahgard district snatched dry land every year and asked the minister for the construction of retaining wall.
At the end of the gathering the water and energy minister pledged addressing public issues.
