ATLANTA (Pajhwok): The caretaker government has formed a commission to respond to a possible influx of refugees deported by Pakistan.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the IEA, wrote on his X handle that the commission was set up following Islamabad’s decision on forcible deportation of refugees after November 1.
The panel for addressing the problems of returning refugees would be led by Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Mujahid added.
According to him, the commission is comprised of 31 members and has been constituted on the directives of the IEA Supreme Leader Ameer-ul-Momineen.
The government also approved the procedure in eight chapters, 31 articles, a secretariate and 12 committees for the implementation of the procedure to provide basic services to the returnees.
Mujahid added the committees had been tasked with refugees’ identification. registration, transfer and provision of health services and accommodation.
Pakistan has set the Nov 1 deadline for illegal migrants to leave the country or face forced expulsion.
