‘Available personnel not sufficient to meet public health demands’

TRINKOT (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health provided up to 10,000 beds for patients at the moment nationwide, while there was need for 45,000 beds, an official said on Friday.

Acting Health Minister Dr.Qalandar Ebad during his trip to Uruzgan province said existing medical personnel in the country was not sufficient to provide health service, adding that specialist doctors from outside the country would be brought to ensure quality health service for the people.

He said place, resources and professional health personnel were need to provide health service to 33,000 patients on beds.

Ebad said health ministry has activated 300 new health centres nationwide and work on the construction of 585 other centres was underway.

He said health ministry planned to invite health experts from foreign countries to train new physicians.
