KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has inked memoranda of understanding (MoU)s worth more than eight million US dollars with 11 organisations.
Under the MoUs, according to a statement from MoCI, different projects will be implemented in 15 provinces of the country.
The projects are related to supporting families of victims, small entrepreneurs, investments, business development via telephone, and empowering youth.
Poor and needy families will be empowered through jobs, business opportunities, handicraft vocational programmes, carpet-weaving workshops.
Acting Minister Nooruddin Azizi appreciated activities and role of these organisations in Afghanistan’s development.
Azizi said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) had drawn up comprehensive programmes for supporting investors.
He asked financiers to accord priority to promoting education and creating job opportunities for returning Afghan refugees.
Meanwhile, representatives of the organisations expressed their gratitude to the ministry for sustained cooperation.
They affirmed their commitment to cooperating with the interim government on bringing prosperity and development to the country.
