KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Commerce and Industries Minister Nooruddin Azizi said no one will be allowed to sell low quality and high priced products on people.
On its Twitter handle the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MoCI), wrote that Azizi held a meeting with officials of the Chamber of Professionals, Shopkeepers, and other business from capital Kabul.
Essential commodities importers and officials of transport companies were also present in the meeting.
The meeting was held to analyze appreciation of Afghani against dollar and its impact on essential commodities.
In this meeting, the heads of various trade unions, including major importers of essential raw materials, officials of transportation companies, analyzed and reviewed the situation of the prices of essential raw materials in the relevant sector after the increase in the value of the Afghani currency against the dollar.
He said the MoIC did want not intervene in the market and tries to provide healthy competition conditions for suppliers and applicants in the market.
Azizi added: “But the ministry has comprehensive monitoring of the market process and does not allow violators to harm people by selling low-quality goods at high prices, or to increase prices by hoarding and monopolizing goods.”
